![]() Chelsea Summer Brown Chelsea Summer Brown has played the violin since age ten and has studied violin with Maestro Eugene Stoia, Alaura Weston, and Ben Hurley. She currently studies with Professor Brook Moes. She played in the Mother Lode Youth Symphony for 3 years, serving as concert mistress for one season. She also played with the Symphony of the Sierras for 1 ˝ years. This past year she was honored to perform the Mozart Violin Concerto No. 5 with the Symphony of the Sierras. Chelsea was a winner of the 2006 Mother Lode Friends of Music Young Musician’s Competition. She also was awarded a scholarship in the St. James’ Concert Series Youth Competition. In fall 2009, she will enter the Conservatory of Music at the University of Pacific to begin work in Music Therapy. She intends to work after college so that she can make a positive difference in the world. Chelsea says: “The violin has really taught me some valuable life lessons. It's taught me perseverance, concentration, and deep admiration for those have mastered it.” |
